Jeannie & Derek :: Backyard Wedding in Windham, Maine
Jeannie & Derek are two down home kind of people that have really warm hearts. You might remember them from their
engagement photos that I took for them last fall, which included Jeannie being stuck on a tiny John Deere tractor. Fun, when you think of Jeannie & Derek, is definitely high on the list of adjectives. They were married at Derek's family store in Windham followed by a tented reception at Derek's family estate that last well in to the evening. It was an absolutely amazing day filled with hints of John Deere colors from the green of Jeannie's shoes to the yellow of the bouquet flowers to the glowing paper lanterns towards the ceiling in the tent. Oh, and did I mention that they arrived at their reception on a John Deere tractor as well? Obviously it was an awesome day and a complete blast for all who were fortunate enough to witness their union.
Jeannie and her girls got ready at Janelle No. 5 in Windham, Maine. I have worked with Janelle on a couple of occasions and the girls always look amazing! This time was obviously no different. Jeannie spent her "down time" practicing her vows and her mom spent her "down time" trying to hold back to tears of happiness. Jeannie's makeup was done by her (very pregnant) matron of honor as well as one of her friends. The two of them made quick work of it! It was a blast to watch.
Jeannie looked absolutely stunning in her dress! I swear it was meant to be worn by her. Her shoes were custom dyed to match her colors and her yellow calla lily bouquet just popped against the white of her dress. Derek just about lost it when he saw her and you can see why. She was gorgeous! Jeannie & Derek's ceremony was heart felt and perfectly personalized to represent their love for each other. I dare say that there were more than a few damp eyes in the audience as they read their views to each other. Once they were finally pronounced to be husband and wife, we captured a few portraits on the perfectly manicured lawn and with a John Deere tractor before moving on to the real cerebration at Derek's family estate. DJ Jaz kept the party rocking well in to the night complete with his amazing laser light show that made the tent glow in a multitude of colors.
Jeannie & Derek, thank you so much for letting me capture your day. It was absolutely incredible. I cannot wait to see what will happen next!
