Michelle & Jory's Fall Wedding at the Maple Hill Farm Inn in Hallowell, Maine

Oh, Michelle & Jory. What an amazing day! When they first contact me about their wedding more than a year before their wedding day, I was immediately taken by how genuine they were and their unique story that brought them to this point in their life. When you start the story of how you met with "in jail..." you know it's going to be a good one. (And no, they weren't inmates. They were coworkers.) When Michelle and I set up our coffee date to sit down and chat, the humor continued as we found ourselves both at Dunkin' Donuts in the same town. On the same road. But not at the same location. We certainly had more than a few laughs about it while we figured that out! When we then met for their engagement portrait session at the Maple Hill Farm Inn in Hallowell almost exactly a year ago, our shared laughter resulted in some of my favorite shots from the day. I love it when things click so well!

Their wedding day itself was a textbook perfect September day. Crystal blue skies, fluffy white clouds, a slight breeze, cool temperatures... I dare say any couple dreams of weather like theirs. Michelle and her ladies started their day at Lux Beautique in Hallowell, Maine for their hair and make-up time before they went to the Maple Hill Farm Inn in Hallowell to continue their preparations. With the boys lounging down the hall, the ladies assembled their finishing touches before the ceremony.

The front lawn of the Maple Hill Farm Inn in Hallowell features many old growth maple trees that created the perfect canopy covering Michelle & Jory's wedding ceremony. Somehow the llamas got the memo and stayed away from the main event, as much as that disappointed Jory and his groomsmen. Fortunately, the llamas came our for the portrait time which continued the laughs and smiles. And made Jory and his best man, in particular, really happy. The grounds of the Maple Hill Farm Inn feature a wide variety of portrait spots for us to visit before getting the new Mr. & Mrs. and their attendants to their much anticipated reception.

As the hall filled with their guests, the party really got started. Michelle & Jory's friends and family immediately gravitated to the photobooth from High Tech Entertainment. The props were big hits all night long from a flowerly little hat to big glasses to sailor hats. Michelle and her dad had a hilarious dance prepared that energized the crowd. The dance floor itself was hopping with vast amount of entertainment provided by Jory's best man singing several popular hits.

It really was a perfect day for Michelle & Jory to start the next exciting chapter of their life together. And Alan and I are so pleased that we were able to be there to capture it for them.

Michelle & Jory, thank you for having us! We had such a great time with you both. Here is a sneak peek to tide you over as I finish the rest of your images.
