Ali & Lance's Intimate Christmas Wedding
This blog post is coming to you long after the newlyweds received their gallery of finished images, which seems to be my constant “problem” in my excitement to deliver the entire set to them. And, when a couple is as adorable as Ali & Lance, it is downright impossible to chose my favorite images to share here.
Sweet Ali first reached out to me several months ago about their destination holiday wedding here in her home state of Maine and I was instantly taken by her bubbly, positive personality and the romance of her relationship with Lance. When we “met” via video chat, we spent less time talking business and more time getting to know their adorable little bunnies that were the reason behind why they connected in the first place. The more and more I got to know Ali & Lance, the more and more I liked them and could tell how deeply connected they were to each other. When they wedding day finally arrived and we all awoke to horrendously rainy and not pretty weather, I knew there would still be loads of smiles and laughter. These two getting married was truly at the heart of the day regardless of what Mother Nature wanted to say about it.
After preparing for the festivities in their own spaces in the historic Governors Hill Mansion in Augusta, Ali & Lance enjoyed a first look together in the library before taking portraits in front of the candle lit front stairs. With most of the family formals behind them, they tucked themselves away upstairs before walking down the staircase hand in hand to be wed. The way that Lance was beaming and Ali was glowing… swoon! So very, very romantic and such a sweet gesture to come to their ceremony as a couple. Emica from Cottontail Couples (which, by the way, was such the perfect name for these two bunny fanatics to rely on) performed a heartfelt ceremony while their rings were passed around for a wing warming. Everyone got a little misty eyed when Lance proposed to Ali again during his vows since he knew the first time was such a blur for Ali (as it is for most of us, I dare say). Then Ali sang her vows to Lance and the water works really started. There really was not a dry eye in the room at that point! So much love and joy surrounded them as they were officially declared married. The newlyweds and their loved ones celebrated with an intimate dinner and yummy dessert followed by an evening of laughter over their favorite board games. It was the most perfect way to celebrate their new “alliance”.
Stay tuned for more photos of the lovebirds from their day after session at Winterberry Farm in Belgrade. You won’t want to miss it!
