Jen & Mike's Springtime Wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Connecticut

I photographed Jen & Mike’s wedding this past spring in Connecticut, but it only makes sense to share it now as I prepare to head out for my last wedding of the 2019 season. Why you ask? Well, they are both connected to the same branch of my client family tree. My connection with Jen & Mike can be traced back to Jen & Jared’s wedding in June of 2012. And today’s wedding is also connected to Jen & Jared as it will be Jen’s brother getting married. So here we are. A season bookended by two couples connected to the same wedding. I. Love. It!

When I first met Jen & Mike, they were getting ready for Danielle & Dustin’s wedding in Rangeley, Maine and were newly engaged. My fingers became very crossed that I would be fortunate enough to photograph their wedding and, as you can see, my wish came true! Along the way to their wedding day, we met up for their engagement session in Wells, Maine, and chatted back and forth for months leading up to their wedding as their plans solidified. Arriving in Connecticut for their wedding preparations felt like a family reunion to me. Jen & Mike got ready for the festivities at the Hilton Garden Inn Wallingford/Meriden with Jen and her ladies spending time with the stylish ladies from Larissa Lake and Co. for their hair and makeup. They were then whisked off to The Barns at Wesleyan Hills by Gateway Limousine to put on the finishing touches.

Surrounded by their loved ones, Jen & Mike were married in a heartfelt ceremony complete with a knot tying with a backdrop of lush greenery and beneath the lovely willow tree. There just might have been a misty eye or two in the crowd (and some of them might have been mine). After capturing their portraits around the pond on the property, the newlyweds made their way into the Barns to celebrate. From a delicious meal to flambé donuts (both prepared by the catering staff at the Barns) to an incredible cake from JCakes, their guests were well fueled to keep the dance floor hoping long into the night with the DJ from Powerstation Events. It truly was an amazing day.

Jen & Mike, thank you for having me along for the journey of this chapter in your life together and bringing me to Connecticut to capture your wedding. It truly was an honor!
