Danielle & Joe :: Wedding & Reception at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine

When Danielle & Joe first contacted me about their wedding in June of 2011, they hadn't set a date yet. August 4th or 11th of 2012 was all that they knew. I immediately told them that I was partial to the 4th since it was my own wedding anniversary. Less than a month later, we met over a couple frosty drinks from Dunkin' Donuts (it was summer in Maine and during a wicked heat wave) and chatted about how they envisioned their day and how I could help to capture it. The date was set as August 4th. The Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine was the location. The ceremony would be in the garden and they would be surrounded by all of their family and friends from across the globe (hello, Alaska family!). Fast forward more than a dozen months later and their visions came to life. It was the perfect day. The temperatures were warm, but not sweltering (unlike my own wedding day when we all melted!) especially with a gentle breeze blowing through the ceremony. Swing Shift had the dance floor hoping all night. The food (& flowers) from the Harraseeket Inn were incredibly! I heard the lobster shots during the cocktail hour were a huge favorite and everyone was gushing about all of the amazing plates during the plated dinner service. From start to finish, I dare say that my anniversary twins could have asked for a better day.

Congratulations, Danielle & Joe! I hope that you had an incredible trip to Napa. I can't wait to hear all about it! Thank you so much for letting me play a role in your day. Good luck starting off the new school year, my fellow educators!
