Samantha & Ryan's Maternity Portraits

It is hard to believe that we are mere weeks... days... away from meeting Samantha & Ryan's bundle of joy. And here I am getting nostalgic about the journey that I've been on with them since they first contacted me about their wedding in early 2013. It blows my mind that it's been that long already! Over the last five years, I've captured their engagement portraits and then Sam's bridal shower before their wedding in July of 2014. We've been Facebook friends ever since then and I've loved watching them create their life together. I was beyond excited when they announced that they were expecting their first little one. And then even more excited when they asked me to capture their maternity and, eventually, newborn portraits for them.

As we were planning for their session, we tossed around a lot ideas for a location. From the city to the country, rocky coastline to sandy beaches. In the end, we decided to meet at Fort Foster at Kittery Point in Maine. The wind along the coastline was brisk and there were a few flakes in the air. But Samantha & Ryan were troopers and we had a fun time wandering around the park together exploring the grounds during the quieter season.
