Catherine & Will :: Wedding & Reception at the Barn on Walnut Hill in North Yarmouth, Maine

I first met Cate & Will last October for their engagement session. The weather forecast was not awesome; it said good chance of rain. That meant no sun was just about a guarantee. Given that it was a portrait session, we had the option to reschedule. But Cate & Will was game and so was I. The rain held off and we had a gorgeous, misty day. What resulted are some of my favorite portraits of all time. So, when their wedding day started hitting the 10 day forecast and it started showing rain, I wasn't worried. These two and a little rain? Eh! No big deal!

And I was right. They took the less than ideal forecast and tossed it right back in Mother Nature's face. Will had the radar up on his computer screen all morning while Cate was off getting her hair done with her ladies at 4 Friends Salon in Portland. As "go" time got closer, the decision was made. The ceremony would be outside. Yipee! Meanwhile, Cate and her ladies were busy trying to help, with the assistance of a doctor, one of the bridesmaids fight off a nasty stomach bug. Between the less than ideal weather and the stomach bug issues, I dare say these two can handle anything together!

And thus the ceremony went off shortly after the scheduled time with the guests sitting on plastic bags to protect their bottoms from the damp benches. Cate was absolutely glowing and beaming all day with her infectious laugh warmed us all up as they professed their loved for each other through thick and thin. The colors they picked for the bridesmaids' dresses, the guys' suits, and the flowers complimented the day perfectly. After sealing the deal with a kiss, the newlyweds meandered down the boardwalk path to The Barn on Walnut Hill to celebrate the start of the next chapter of their life together. We quickly snapped their bridal party portraits outside before heading in to the main house for the family photos. Then it was time to get the party started with the help of the always talented Joe Farren. And party they did. It was an awesome day!

Thank you so much for letting me play a role in your big day, Cate & Will. I am so incredibly honored to have been there for you both and to have met your awesome family.
