Elizabeth & Michael's Maine Maritime Museum Wedding
Exactly eleven months prior to their wedding, Elizabeth & Michael reached out to me with their plans for their June 2018 wedding at Maine Maritime Museum. I was instantly excited at the opportunity to visit the Museum after Kelly & Kevin's wedding back in 2015. As I got to know Elizabeth & Michael and learned more about their story, my enthusiasm only grew (as did the "reply" list of our email chain). Fast forward to this past Saturday and even mother nature couldn't dampen my spirits. It was time for Elizabeth & Michael to finally get hitched! I am not sure that the forecast was what they had in mind when they opted for a June wedding, but my goodness did they rock it! From donning umbrellas during their first look to taking a risk and opting for an outdoor ceremony when the radar showed the rain would stop, they were rock stars. As their guests witnessed them reciting their vows to each other, the rain drops off the trees might not have been the only thing creating a damp eye or two. Queue the young "security" man who was protecting their rings and those damp eyes were rapidly replaced with giggles. With vows given and rings exchanged, cheers broke out as they dodged the rain drops heading back up the aisle as husband and wife to start celebrating their union during their cocktail hour. Capturing a few more portraits along the waterfront during a lull in the rain towards the tail end of their cocktail hour, I dare say it started to sink in that the wedding planning was over and they were, at long last, married.
The evening carried on with a dance floor filled with their closest friends & family fueled dancing to music from The Music Man with the energy from their delicious dinner and cake from 111 Maine Catering. Elizabeth's stunning gown from Andrea's Bridal, the lovely flowers from Campbell's Floral Design, and the guy's suits from Tuxedos On Broadway were all perfect compliments to the history of their venue. When I departed at the end of the night, the ladies hair and makeup was as flawless as it had been in the afternoon thanks to Makeup by Lauren Kinton. All of the planning resulted in an absolutely perfect day in every way. Even with all the rain drops that fell.
Elizabeth & Michael, thank you so much for trusting me to capture the story of your amazing day and to get to know you over the last eleven months. It was absolutely my honor! I cannot wait to show you all of the images from your incredible day. But, in the meantime, here is a sneak peek at what is in store. It was so hard to select my favorites to share!
