Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine, is one of a handful of wedding venues that I have had the honor of working at multiple times over the years. The last wedding I captured there was Elizabeth & Michael’s soirée in June of 2018. Since then, their wedding has graced the pages of Real Maine Weddings a couple times. I am pleased to share that their exuberant recession photo can be found on page 158 of the January 2020 issue.

“Susie and Alan were fantastic. They took both my engagement and wedding photos. They were a great team and so easy to work with. Susie has great management skills so the family portraits and important photographs went smoothly and easily. Not to mention her wedding toolbox! “
Read MoreWith the perfect blend of rustic and sophistication, The Barn at Flanagan Farm in nearby Buxton, Maine, is certainly one of my favorite local venues for the perfect Maine wedding. Their on-site woodland sanctuary is surrounded by gorgeous, tall trees and incorporates seating for up to 200 guests. The post and beam barn and immaculate farmhouse are two of the most well decorated and designed spaces that I have ever photographed.
Read MoreI have photographed all of my weddings, going back to my very first, with at least a backup camera with me. Since then, my “collection” has grown so that I have backups for my backups. The last thing a photographer should be worried about is gear failure and having multiples ensures that I can continue to photograph your session or event without you realizing anything has happened. You might say “But what are the odds that you need it?” Well, it always happens when you least expect it!

“Susie was our photographer for our wedding day and has photographed several of our family members' weddings as well. Susie was simply amazing! She had great communication with us prior to our big day and made sure all pictures went smoothly. Susie made us feel relaxed throughout the day and worked behind the scenes to capture the best, candid moments. We absolutely love our wedding photos. I highly recommend her as a photographer!”
Read MoreI have been in love with Ski Esta ever since I photographed by first wedding there in 2010. From the incredible views to the impeccable attention to detail in this luxurious estate, you can't go wrong choosing Ski Esta for your wedding. There are steam rooms, several jacuzzis, an indoor pool, and sleeping for 38 (!!) to round out this getaway spot in Newry, Maine.

First up is the “G” family, who I first photographed back in 2012 when they daughter was 5 days old. We met up at Hawkes Preserve in Gorham for a mini session in between all of their sport commitments. This is one wicked athletic family!
Read MoreMegan & Ryan were married in an intimate ceremony on the patio at The Dockside Grill in Falmouth, Maine. Although the wind was brisk and there was a definite nip to the air, they were blessed with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. We gathered inside for their formal family portraits before the newlyweds and I bopped outside for a few brief moments for some quiet time for just the two of them while we captured some more formal portraits. After a delicious dinner, incredible desserts, and the kids built their Lego sets, we departed Falmouth and made our way to Rising Tide Brewing Company in Portland.
Read MoreI have a soft spot in my heart for venues that are more private and allow my couples to stay on the premise with their loved ones for the time surrounding their wedding. Granite Ridge Estate would definitely be on that list. Located on top of a hill in scenic Norway, Maine, the entire property can be taken over for your festivities. It’s the perfect getaway spot to tie the knot! Their enormous barn is absolutely immaculate and offers stunning views of the valley below and the sunset through the beautiful windows on the far end from the doors. It truly is unlike any other property I’ve been to. I was so pleased to finally have the opportunity to capture a wedding at the Estate when Ravi & Angelina were married there. And boy would I love to go back!
Read MoreThere is so much to love about Mariner’s Church Banquet Center! I’ve captured several weddings there over the years and the staff has always been excellent to work with. Located right in Portland’s Old Port, it provides you and your guests with a wide variety of options for hotels and other activities surrounding the wedding without much of a need to drive. You can also arrange to gather somewhere for an after party with ease. Mariner’s Church is able to handle most, if not all, of what you would need for your reception, which makes it all that much easier since you won’t need to book multiple vendors on your own.

Located right on the waterfront between the Old Port and the East End, it features a wide range of variety for your portraits from the industrial aspects of the Portland Company Complex to the working waterfront, the fun rock garden to the Old Port itself. You really can't go wrong. Then you add in the option for an on-site wedding ceremony along the waterfront and the floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking the harbor and it is the perfect palate for your Maine wedding.
Read MoreFarms are some of my favorite places to photograph weddings and Broadturn Farm is certainly high on that list. I absolutely love their old barn with huge doors on both sides (perfect for warm summer evenings!), lots of lovely mature trees, woodland trails for different scenery for your portraits, and the nicest folks you’ll ever meet. You can also arrange to make use of the farm house to get ready in, which ensures you won’t have to worry about getting caught in traffic on your way to the ceremony. In addition to hosting your wedding, they also offer stunning floral arrangements from flowers grown right on the farm. It doesn’t get much fresher than that!

Read MoreI photographed Jen & Mike’s wedding this past spring in Connecticut, but it only makes sense to share it now as I prepare to head out for my last wedding of the 2019 season. Why you ask? Well, they are both connected to the same branch of my client family tree. My connection with Jen & Mike can be traced back to Jen & Jared’s wedding in June of 2012. And today’s wedding is also connected to Jen & Jared as it will be Jen’s brother getting married. So here we are. A season bookended by my couples connected to the same wedding. I. Love. It!
