There is just something about a fall day spent in an apple orchard. Especially if you get to spend it with two love birds getting ready for their 2021 wedding. And if you have the most perfect weather for it. Fortunately for me, I had just such a morning this fall when I got to visit Randall Orchard in Standish, Maine, with Tyler & Kari for their engagement session.
Read MoreA few weeks ago we hit peak foliage and perfect temps for glorious fall portraits. Whitney & Ben, who are getting hitched next summer, opted to take advantage of it. And I am so glad they did! We met up at the Sebago Lake Land Reserve, which is owned by the Portland Water District, to explore Otter Ponds together. If you haven’t visited. the Reserve, I highly recommend it! It’s one of my favorite local areas here in Standish, Maine, and features miles of trails to explore.

But their story started way back before they even stepped foot into a classroom when they met as youngster. They spent their youth going to school together and walking the same hallways for years before they became a couple. To say they have stories to tell of their time together would be an understatement.

Poofy white clouds dotting a stunning blue sky. Oh, it was amazing. All of their hard work (and that of their family and friends) paid off in spades with a picture perfect wedding at Lexi’s parent’s house in Standish, Maine. The details were spot on in every way. Matching vows cards, hand lettered signs lining the aisle, wildflower seeds for their guests in adorable kraft envelopes, unique centerpieces for each table… they really outdid themselves!

My mind instantly went to Lexi and Chris’s engagement session from this past winter around Sebago Lake here in Standish. We were very lucky to have a relatively mild day when we got together and were able to poke around without being bundled up too much.

To say I feel fortunate every time I get to work with Michelle and Jory would be a complete understatement. Each time we get together is like another chapter in their story. It blows my mind when I think about how far back my connection with them goes!
Read MoreDid you know that it's the holidays? Christmas is in four days! But when you buy a new home and move in when it's cold, snowy and icy out... time slips by pretty rapidly! So, when my friend Michelle contacted me recently for their family portraits, we made it happen and set up a mini session at their new home in Standish, Maine, this afternoon. Between their two rambunctious four legged children and a very enthusiastic four year old (she get it from her mama!)...

When Nicole first contacted me, she laid out her vision for their day with their ceremony in Randall's Orchard, an apple orchard nearby, and then their reception at the historic Spire 29 on the Square in Gorham. She had me at fall wedding in an orchard. Could you think of a better time of year?!? Apples still glistening on the branches, the sun reaching the dreamy point in the sky this time of year, and then partying at a renovated church turned event venue? *sigh* My fingers were crossed that I would be lucky enough to tell their story and was jumping for joy when they told me I was their pick.
