Meghan & Hunter... where do I even begin!? These two love birds work together, but didn't connect until they were matched online. Shortly thereafter, it was clear to both of them why. And, after hanging out with the two of them in the rain, it's pretty clear to me as well. For many couples, my "I think we might miss the rain" email that I sent them yesterday afternoon before their engagement session might have given them pause and consider rescheduling. But Meghan & Hunter's response was simply that they wouldn't melt. My kind of couple!
Read MoreI feel as though my relationship with Samantha & Ryan is like a chapter book. The prologue was in July of 2013 when I first met them for a cup of coffee in Sanford. Chapter 1 was in August of that year as we met up for their engagement portraits. Chapter 2 then happened in July of 2014 when we celebrated their nuptials at The Woodlands Club during the heat of summer. It was a few years later that we met up again and celebrated Jessica & Matt's wedding. Then Samantha & Ryan announced last year that they were pregnant and chapter four began!
Read MoreNothing makes me happier than getting to meet up with my couples after their wedding day to continue to capture the story of their day. Needless to say, when this past couple reached out and asked me to visit them in their new home and meet their newest edition, I was practically jumping in my seat with excitement.
Read MoreWhen you can trace your first photos of a couple back eight years to the very beginning of their relationship, you know it's going to be a special session for me. I am a sucker for nostalgia, of course. So it goes without saying that the first thing I did this evening in preparation for writing this post was to dig through my archives to find a photo of Chris & Jen from way, way back at John & Jenessa's wedding on Peaks Island in 2009. The very first one I found was nothing to write home about. And then I found this jem of the two of them, newly dating each other, attending his cousin's wedding. It is hard to think about the journey that they have taken over the years that led them to last weekend with their ten day old baby in their arms and, once again, in front of my camera.
Read MoreNo rain. No snow. No Wessie sightings.
That pretty much sums up Samantha & Dalton's engagement portraits last week at Riverbank Park in Westbrook, Maine. When they first booked me at the beginning of the month, they had their fingers crossed for fresh snow for their engagement portraits. Flash forward to last week. We had been clobbered by a few rounds of snow storms. And then Mother Nature pulled a 180 and proceeded to melt a great deal of it with a heat wave. Yet the snow in Westbrook held on for us and gave them a (relatively) clean blanket of snow.
Read MoreIt is impossible for me to believe that it has been a year and a half since Jory & Michelle were married. That means it's been two and a half years since I first met Michelle over a cup of coffee (after we determined we were at different Dunkin' Donuts) to talk about their wedding plans. My how time flies! Needless to say, I was more than a little excited when they announced the impending arrival of their little one AND that they wanted to get together for maternity portraits.
Read MoreI first met Miss M over two years ago when she was just twelve days old. I walked into her parent's home in Gorham and instantly melted. She was such a tiny cutie that I could have spent the entire day just watching her sleep. She was adorable!
Read MoreDid you know that it's the holidays? Christmas is in four days! But when you buy a new home and move in when it's cold, snowy and icy out... time slips by pretty rapidly! So, when my friend Michelle contacted me recently for their family portraits, we made it happen and set up a mini session at their new home in Standish, Maine, this afternoon. Between their two rambunctious four legged children and a very enthusiastic four year old (she get it from her mama!)...

When Molly first contacted me about her September 2017 wedding with Colin back in August, I instantly knew that I really wanted to be their photographer. We emailed back and forth about their incredible plans at one of my favorite venues in Maine and also about their relationship over all these years that led them to this point. We chatted on the phone shortly before they left for a trip to Iceland and it was like talking to old friends.
Read MoreOh be still my heart. Every fall for six years or so I've been getting together with Jess & Tim for their annual family photos. It started back when they were waiting for their daughter's arrival when we took their maternity portraits out of Peaks Island while waiting to attend a wedding. Since then we've met up at their home, the Old Port, a Christmas Tree farm, Kettle Cove... it's hard to believe how much the kids have grown over the years. (And I foresee a blog post in my future recapping my growth with photography over that time, too.)
Read MoreA few weeks ago, one of my friends, Jim, learned that his fur baby was battling cancer. The diagnosis came through a series of unfortunate events that brought her to the vet's office. Getting the news, there were lots of hugs and wondering what any of us could do to make it better. For me, I turned to my camera and offered to meet up with them last weekend so that Porsche could have her very own portrait session.
Read MoreWoah. That's about how I can sum this one up.
How has it already been five years since Brittany & Dan tied the knot? Or just about that long since their epic trash the dress session in Portsmouth, New Hampshire before the bridge was taken down?
